The steelhead above was landed in the Trinity River.

Trinity River
This beautiful river has been very productive this past year, and steelhead, brown trout, and salmon abound.  A 45-minute drive from Redding, the Trinity is usually fishable from October to March.  It has a good run of wild and hatchery steelhead.  The down side is that it is very crowded at times.

One of the towns near the Trinity River is Weaverville, located along highway 299 about 40 miles from Redding.  Here is a link which will provide some information about this historic town at the base of the Trinity Alps Wilderness area:
