The Middle Klamath is loaded with steelhead, especially around the Happy
Camp area. Five tributaries empty into the Klamath River near here.
Happy Camp is located in northern California

Steelhead go up to spawn. They can range in weight from 1/2 lb.
to 8 lbs. They usually average about 2-4 lbs. in the Middle Klamath. Steelhead are a very explosive fish when
hooked. There are several methods to catch them, such as plugs, bouncing roe, and flies.
