The Happy Camp area is home to Bigfoot, as shown by the prominent statue at the edge of town.

 AS THE SIGN SAYS, HAPPY CAMP IS THE "STEELHEAD CAPITAL OF THE WORLD."

The Middle Klamath is loaded with steelhead, especially around the Happy Camp area.  Five tributaries empty into the Klamath River near here.

Steelhead go up to spawn.  They can range in weight from 1/2 lb. to 8 lbs.  They usually average about 2-4 lbs. in the Middle Klamath.  Steelhead are a very explosive fish when hooked.  There are several methods to catch them, such as plugs, bouncing roe, and flies.
